    9.0Superb

Overall we enjoyed our stay and liked the historic character of the houses and the midcity location.

Mansions were beautiful and spacious. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Good location near many museums. Great that they were dog friendly.

Less good: Carpets had some stains and decor could have been nicer in the rooms.

    One night in Detroit

    Comfortable room, bathroom products

    Less good: No lift

Beautiful, historic place in a great location.

Beautiful place, lovely atmosphere and breakfast room with croissants.

Less good: The room was not as depicted - much smaller than what was chosen and depicted at booking confirmation. It was okay, just not as expected for the price.

Good overnight stay in the city

Staff very friendly, classic old Detroit buildings, very good location

Less good: the room could have been cleaner and there was no bath mat near the shower

I felt like the room was very clean. They have done a great job of preserving the character and charm of the home while providing modern amenities (my room had a TV and WiFi was offered). I also loved the design of the bathroom I was in. They offer quality breakfast pastries and coffee which was very nice. The location is perfect if you love history/exploring culture. You can easily walk to at least three museums! There is a free train that can take you to good restaurants and shopping.

Less good: Keep in mind that you are staying in a historic home, so you will need to be comfortable with handling your luggage up and down stairs and the room had a physical key. I felt like I needed to be very responsible during my stay.

    Recent stay

We have stayed there before and it's still a wonderful location and beautiful accommodations.

Less good: Disappointed that they don't offer the beautiful breakfast they used to offer under previous owners. But we understand COVID changed everything.

Convenient but not what used to be.

    Location, price, staff

Less good: Property in transition due to new ownership. Limited staffing results in limited service. Website needs update to reflect current status.

Glad to have a comfortable place to stay near the art museum.

    Location, spacious room, comfortable bed.

Less good: The carpets needed to be vacuumed. No service to make the bed, bring fresh towels. Only decaf for the Keurig downstairs.

Wonderful, historic buildings. The architecture was breathtaking

Less good: Some of the windows were a little drafty
