    Great Hotel, But the Night Auditor Needs Better Customer Service

    I genuinely love staying at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Detroit. The hotel itself is great, and the ladies who work during the daytime are absolutely wonderful. They are friendly, welcoming, helpful, and always make me feel comfortable when I’m there.

    Less good: Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the night auditor. Her customer service skills are extremely poor. She rarely speaks or acknowledges guests, and her overall demeanor comes across as very unfriendly and unwelcoming. When you work at the front desk of a hotel, especially overnight, guests should still feel welcomed and comfortable approaching you if they need assistance. I really enjoy this hotel and would absolutely continue staying here, but management should seriously address the level of customer service being provided during the night shift. The daytime staff is amazing and truly shows the type of hospitality I expect when staying here.

    Very pleasant experience.

    Front desk manned 24 hours, 5 minute drive to the convention center and a gas station/conveince store directly across the street designated smokers spot with benches, temperature controls, free parking, microwave and mini refrigerator.

    Less good: When I booked the disability room the picture showed a sitting area with a love seat. The bathroom was very spacious, but the room itself was very small and no sitting area. The vertical hanging apparatus, would prefer a horizontal rod even if it only covered half of the space to make room for the ironing board. Elevator out of service, it didn't affect me since I was on the first floor, but other patrons had to drag there lug there luggage up one or two flights of stairs.

    The place is situated just few minutes from the city center, at a major route that offers quick connection to major freeways. Enough parking slots, complimentary breakfast with just enough tables, clean rooms. The price was really good for US standards.

    Less good: The room did not have any closet/cabinet for clothes. The wifi is the sort where you need to log in every time. The breakfast did not offer any vegetables or fruits. The common areas (corridors, staircases) could use some investment to fix.

    The breakfast was good, it was convenient to the Little Caesars Arena! The price was affordable!

    Less good: Smelly hallways/stair case, elevators were broken and no warning until we were there in person checking in. My room wasnt properly clean, there was a dime and some toilet paper peices on the bathroom floor, there was a empty chip bag in the desk drawer and the floors weren't very clean

    The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location was not far from downtown Detroit. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable.

    Less good: The only issue was that the elevator was out of order during our stay, so we had to take the stairs to the second floor with our luggage.
